The 2014 Mount Spurr Eruption was an Explosive VEI 4 eruption that happened on June 1st, 2014.

Prologue

During the Afternoon of October 28th, 2013, The Alaskan Volcano Observatory began monitoring Several Earthquake Swarms, Most of which originated 6km beneath Mount Spurr, Of Which ranged from 1.8 to 3.3, with one even reaching 4.1

On This Basis, The Alaskan Volcano Observatory began monitoring Mount Spurt more Closely.

On Halloween, 2013, a series of Earthquakes ranging from 2.1 to 4.0, coupled with reports of a minor Steam Plume from Mount Spurr caused the Alaskan Volcano Observatory to raise the Alert status to Orange from Green, indicating there was at least a slight probability/possibility for an Eruption within any given time.

At about mid-day the same day, Thermal Imaging was conducted on the Mountain, and it was found it was running 195 to 220*c Hotter than usual, at the same time, it was still producing a minor amount of steam and minor earthquakes.

One of which caused a slight landslide near the SSW side of the Volcano..
